The name

The beetle and the frog

The frog was small. Skinny legs, big eyes, the kind of frog the other frogs pushed around. He was fast, faster than any of them. But speed doesn't matter when you're afraid to move.

Every mealtime was the same. The other frogs would line up at the best spots, and the frog would hang back. Not because he couldn't get there first. Because he knew what happened if he did.

Then there was the beetle. A rhinoceros beetle. Big, slow, clumsy. The kind of creature that knocked things over just by walking past them. He couldn't hunt. Couldn't sneak. Couldn't do any of the things that kept a creature fed. But nobody messed with him. Because he was big, and he was scary, and the other frogs knew better.

So they teamed up.

The beetle would walk to the front of the line. The other frogs would scatter. And the frog, the fast one, the one who'd been hanging back this whole time, would swoop in and grab the food. Every time. No bullying. No fear. Just two creatures doing what neither could do alone.

The beetle got fed. The frog got brave. And the other frogs stopped laughing.

That's a bedtime story Zach told his son Xavier when he was a baby. It became the name of the business because that's what good partnership looks like.
